TECO Technology

With over 85 years of experience, TECO Technology offers unparalleled expertise and an extensive product range across the industrial automation spectrum—including pneumatics, electrical systems, motion control, hydraulics, and robotics. Our team of application engineers and industry experts collaborates closely with customers to curate and tailor solutions that meet specific application requirements, providing in-depth support from design through troubleshooting and production. Based in Livermore, California, our headquarters is fully equipped for machining, assembly, testing, and clean room production, empowering us to be a seamless extension of our customers' teams. As automation demands grow, TECO Technology is committed to scaling alongside our customers, offering end-to-end solutions that drive efficiency and innovation in their operations.

In 1937, “TECO” was founded as Transmission Engineering in South San Francisco, CA. supplying gear reducers, clutches and brake components. When WWII started, we supplied liberty ships with boat transmissions.

In 1957, Transmission Engineering began supplying pneumatic & fluid power components, which became our primary focus.

In 1972, we changed our name to TECO Pneumatic Inc. (DBA: TECO Technology) to avoid confusion with supplying transmission products.

In 1991, we purchased our headquarters in Pleasanton, CA. and continued to add pneumatic lines. At which point we began to incorporate our value added services.

In 2008, we acquired a second facility in Reno, NV.

In 2011, we incorporated a third facility in Tualatin, OR.

In 2020, we decided to relocate our Reno, NV facility to Fresno, CA. to better serve our growing customer base in the central valley.

In 2022, we moved our headquarters to Livermore, CA. with a larger distribution center, in-house machine shop & greater assembly capability.

In 2023, we are adding a Class 7 Clean Room to the Livermore CA. facility which allows TECO to provide assemblies and components to the semiconductor, material handling, life science, energy, instrumentation, transportation, agriculture, and mining industries.

In 2023, we decided to relocate our Tualatin, OR facility to an additional facility in Fresno, CA.

We are a full line supplier & distributor of fluid and motion control products and systems.

When it comes to automation, fluid power, high purity process control, and filtration, we offer the products you need and the expertise to apply them properly to your specific application.

Here are three frequently asked questions about pneumatic fittings:

  1. What types of pneumatic fittings are available?
Common types include push-to-connect, barbed, compression, and threaded fittings—each suited for different tubing and application requirements.

  2. How do I choose the right size pneumatic fitting?
Selection depends on the tubing’s outer diameter (OD), the thread type (e.g., NPT, BSPT), and the pressure rating of the system. Using a fitting size chart helps ensure proper fit and performance.

  3. Can pneumatic fittings be reused?
Some fittings, like threaded metal ones, can be reused if undamaged, but push-to-connect fittings may wear or lose grip strength over time and should be replaced to maintain a secure seal.

Proper installation of pneumatic fittings is critical to avoid air leaks, reduce downtime, and extend the lifespan of your equipment. A poorly installed fitting can cause energy loss, pose safety risks, and reduce efficiency across the entire pneumatic system.
